US President Donald Trump said Friday that a suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk had been taken into custody.
“With a high degree of certainty, we have him,” Trump announced in a live studio interview on Fox & Friends.
The president said that “somebody very close” to the suspect had turned him in.
Trump’s announcement came amid a widening manhunt to find Kirk’s killer, with the FBI offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information on the shooting.
