President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the Government and people of Bayelsa State over the death of the Deputy Governor, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The condolence is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu extended his heartfelt sympathies to Gov. Douye Diri, the wife of the late deputy governor, Mrs Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo, his children and associates.

The President described Ewhrudjakpo as a diligent and patriotic public servant who served Bayelsa State with commitment and selflessness.

He recalled that the late deputy governor previously served as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure and later represented Bayelsa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

According to Tinubu, Ewhrudjakpo made significant contributions to infrastructure development in the state and played an important role in lawmaking and policy formulation at the federal level.

The President urged the Bayelsa State Government to preserve the legacy of service and dedication left by the late deputy governor.

He prayed for the repose of Ewhrudjakpo’s soul and asked God to grant comfort and strength to his family and the people of Bayelsa in their moment of grief.
