The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop frolicking around nightclubs and focus on the work of governance.
The party, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, disclosed that the governor, rather than attending to governance issues at home, is busy visiting nightclubs across states in the Southwest.
The party lamented that Adeleke left students in state-owned higher institutions to their own plight, battling exorbitant and unnecessary school fees.
“Unfortunately, while Governor Adeleke should have settled down to address the plights of the students and people of the state, as a responsible leader would do, he is visiting different nightclubs, dancing from one state capital to another, frittering away the resources that should have been deployed to fund education and other key sectors of the economy.
“In Ibadan, over the weekend, Adeleke became a butt of jokes at a music concert when he was found dancing like an untamed video vixen. The sight was a classical case of Nero escaping and fiddling in Antium while Rome was burning. It was a terrible scene to experience”, he said.
Reacting, Governor Adeleke berated the opposition over the allegations, saying “the party has run out of ideas amidst its single-digit popularity rating.”
Adeleke, in a statement through his Spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said, “I have judiciously managed state resources with the particular target of meeting the crucial and critical needs of the state in the area of health, infrastructure, education, business financing, cooperative empowerment, sports development, agriculture, technology development, workers’ welfare, and pension management.
“The opposition statement is a devilish fabrication, a mischievous propaganda, and a failed attempt to rubbish a brilliant performance of the current administration as attested to by local and international stakeholders.”
