Nigeria needs help of God — David Ogbueli

By Favour Ulebor, Abuja

The General Overseer of Dominion City Worldwide, Dr. David Ogbueli, has said that Nigeria urgently needs divine intervention to overcome its deepening social, economic, and security challenges.

Speaking with journalists on Friday in Abuja, Dr. Ogbueli—represented by Senior Pastor and member of the Central Executive Council, Pastor Norbert Onaga—said the church’s upcoming Night of Glory crusade is focused on praying for God’s intervention in the nation.

Pastor Onaga noted that the annual crusade, which has run for nearly 20 years, has brought healing and transformation to individuals and communities alike.

He explained that the Abuja edition, scheduled for December 5 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, would serve as the grand finale of the global event, which has already held across five continents in 2025.

According to him, the crusade will feature prayers, worship, and miraculous encounters.

“So, we believe that our dear nation, Nigeria, needs the help of God, and that is one of the major purposes of the Night of Glory,” he said.

“We gather in prayer to bring our nation before God for His intervention because Nigeria is a great nation.”

He described Night of Glory as a unique programme that has consistently brought healing not only to individuals but also to the land.

“This year alone, we’ve had it in almost five continents of the world, and this one is the climax. And why this one is unique is because we’re coming to the end of the year. The Bible says in Psalms 66 that God will crown our year with His goodness,” he added.

Also speaking, the Presiding Pastor of Dominion City Northern Nigeria, Pastor Ifedinma Nwankwo, urged Nigerians to attend the programme with faith and expectation. He noted that months of intercessory prayers had been dedicated to preparing for the event.

“It’s a promising night for everybody. Whatever God is going to do will cut across all walks of life. We tell everyone in Abuja and its environs: come expectant, and God will not leave you unrewarded,” he said.

On logistics, Senior Pastor of Dominion City Lagos, Pastor Shola Olapede, assured that adequate security and transportation arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth and safe gathering.

“There will be free transportation from every part of Abuja—suburbs, satellite towns, adjoining towns all the way to Nasarawa, Suleja, and other surrounding cities. We are also partnering with all the security agencies to ensure that there will be no threats to lives and property that night,” he said.

He added that all preparations were top-notch and assured participants of a world-class experience:

“Don’t sit at home. Anticipate what God is going to do that night. It’s going to be a night of testimonies.”

The Night of Glory Crusade 2025 will be hosted by Dr. Ogbueli, alongside guest ministers including Evangelist Andres Bissoni, Evangelist Daniel Scott, Dr. Charles Ndifon, and Apostle Ikechukwu Nnajiofor.

The worship lineup features renowned gospel artistes such as Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Ebuka Songs, Kaestrings, Theophilus Sunday, Anthony Kani, Sunmisola Agbebi-Okeleye, and Minister GUC.

The event, themed “Raising Leaders, Transforming Society,” will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until dawn. It is expected to attract thousands onsite and millions of online participants worldwide.
