The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has cautioned Nigerians against falling for fake posters circulating online, warning that scammers are impersonating the Commission to mislead the public.
In a post on its official X handle (formerly Twitter), on Wednesday, the Commission revealed that the deceptive posters are being spread under the name Warri Centre for Communities Law (WCLC) and falsely carry the FCCPC logo.
It noted that the materials were neither produced nor authorised by the agency.
The commission described the fake publications as a deliberate act of misrepresentation and urged the public to disregard them completely.
In its words, “The attached posters currently circulating under the name Warri Centre for Communities Law (WCLC) and displaying the Commission’s logo are fraudulent and unauthorised.
“These materials did not originate from the FCCPC and should be disregarded entirely. Any unauthorised use of the Commission’s name, logo, or insignia amounts to impersonation and misrepresentation.”
The FCCPC advised Nigerians to seek accurate information or submit consumer complaints only through its verified platforms, including its website, official email, and complaints portal.
