Dodger-themed ‘churro mobile’ brings sweet treats to fans across Los Angeles

Must read

If you’re looking to get into the Dodger spirit as the World Series continues with Game 4 in Los Angeles, there’s a sweet way to do so.

A Dodger-themed “churro mobile” is selling some of the tastiest treats in town.

It’s the hottest, most festive food service on four wheels this October.

Wrapped in distinct Dodger Blue, a vintage Volkswagen bug is zipping around L.A., parking for post-season pop-ups, and serving up hot, freshly fried, cinnamon sugar-rolled churros, right out of the back seat fry station.

According to a new report, millennials are spending more than every other generation at more than $2,000 each year.

Churros El Bochito offers delicious churros, but the magic of the family-owned, Dodgers-themed dessert mobile is in the nostalgic collaboration of its creator’s favorite things.

“Ever since he was a kid, he grew up with a Volkswagen Beetle, and growing up, his idol was Fernando Valensuela, and his favorite colors are blue and white, and the Dodgers are his favorite team,” said Carlos Pavon, translating for his father, Briant Pavon.

That’s why each Beetle is adorned with the number 34 and a print of Pavon’s favorite Dodger.

“And they all have a portrait, somehow, of Fernando Valesuela,” Carlos Pavon said. “This one, specifically, has him throwing the final pitch when they won the World Series.”

By present Dodgers standards, you could call Carlos Pavon the Shohei Ohtani of churros.

If you’re looking for something fun to do before the Dodgers take the field for Game 3 of the World Series, there’s a new art exhibit you might enjoy.

“He’s the one that perfected the batter. He’s the one that perfects the sugar/cinnamon combination. He does everything churro-related,” Carlos Pavon said.

“As soon as we saw it, me and my wife, we knew we had to get them for his fifteenth birthday party,” said Jorge Manzur.

Word — and taste — of mouth and a hearty social media following have made Churros El Bochito so popular that they’re doing private birthday and watch party buy-outs.

“We’ve been Dodger fans since day one… We’re going to take this one! Feeling very confident,” Manzur said.

Now, a second consecutive Dodgers World Series run is funding an expansion for Churros El Bocchito. Next season, they plan to sell Dodger dogs from a Volkswagen bus.
