President Trump will be one of the speakers at the memorial service for Charlie Kirk on Sunday in Glendale, Ariz., which is expected to draw tens of thousands of people.
Other speakers will include Vice President Vance and Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, who has been tapped to pick up the reins at Turning Point USA after her late husband, who co-founded the group in 2012, was fatally shot on Sept. 10 at an open-air rally on a Utah college campus.
The memorial will likely be a big topic of conversation on Sundays shows, along with the Trump administration’s pressure campaign against ABC and Jimmy Kimmel.
The Federal Communications Commission chief last week turned up the heat on broadcasters, intensifying fears over the policing of speech, which were already rising before this week’s late-night television uproar.
Republican and Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill also say Washington is headed for a government shutdown this week unless Trump intervenes to cut a deal with Democrats.
