Must read

By Haruna Aliyu, Birnin Kebbi

Kebbi State Deputy Speaker, Muhammadu Ismail, regained his freedom from his abductors on Saturday.

He was kidnapped on Friday last week, shortly after observing prayers at the mosque in his home town Bagudo.

A local radio in Birnin Kebbi, which confirmed his release, did not give details at the time of filing this report.

When contacted, Kebbi State Police spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, asked for time to get more information on the development.

However, his release came amid interfaith prayer held in Birnin Kebbi to seek Allah’s intervention on the escalation of insecurity in the state.

Muslims and Christian clerics prayed for the return of enduring peace in Kebbi State even as the governor warned politicians in the state to desist from politicising insecurity.
