As a Nigerian, Dollar payments can now be made to you while working from home.

Must read

As a reputable organization that stands for truth and fairness, we are obligated to provide our readers with authentic information that allows them to make informed and educated decisions.

One business that we researched extensively on in recent times is the idea of profiting from domain names.

We went out there looking for those that have genuinely benefited, we found Olumide Adedayo who is a true and confirmed beneficiary of domain names, although we interviewed a few others, he agreed to publish his story.

Whenever I hear negative things being said about my dear country Nigeria, I am quick to jump in to encourage everyone that all will be well.  Let’s face it business is slow for many, good jobs are hard to find, cost of living have risen beyond the imagination of many, generally things are tough for many.

As a writer, researcher and small business owner, I have faced harsh economic realities many times in the past. I often wondered if I would ever survive. I asked myself if I was born to suffer in this lonely world. I am happy that today my story has changed not in a small way but in a very BIG way. I am more than happy.

My goal today is to share my life changing experience with everyone, hopefully someone out there will understand that sometimes to become very successful in life, you may not necessarily have connection or know anyone. All you may need is to be at the right place at the right time.

Here is my story.

March 2025, I saw an advertisement talking about how Nigerians can earn dollars, my inner mind told me to ignore as this could be one of those get rich quick schemes that never end well.

I decided to read through and eventually signed up, what I read did not just make sense, it appeared unrealistic, how can anyone acquire a domain name for $3000 and profit $50,000 from it. How??? I questioned my mind. Click here to start

My research instinct kicked in, I figured out that what you don’t know, you just don’t know, from my research I discovered that companies in countries like United States and other top tier countries spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and up to millions just to buy a domain name.

But then where would I get a domain name that would give me such profit, reluctantly I responded to the call of the guys at softbrite domains. I asked as many questions as I could possibly ask, the agent was knowledgeable as she broke the entire business model down.

According to her, she would recommend a domain name that is highly sought after in the global market from their pool of domains, the name is guaranteed to become profitable ultimately.

I had 3 major concerns; how soon would I make profit from this and is this even a genuine and legitimate business, most importantly, if they had all those domains, why can’t they directly sell to the end users, why do they need me?

The second question was easy, yes, the business model of softbrite is legitimate and profitable as i confirmed this myself from my detailed research, they are based in Texas and yes, it’s real.

My worry was that their premium domains are not cheap, and I didn’t want to have my funds tied down for an extended period.  She affirmed that domains could sell at any time from weeks to months, but their company spends a whole lot on reaching out to the end users who usually pay a huge premium for these domains.

To clear my third concern, I reached out to an expert in the US who reliably informed me that he has been in the business of making money with domains in the last 15 years, he likened it to those car auction companies in the US and other major countries where it was open to dealers ONLY, these dealers have huge funds to buy these cars in bulk or one unit, their ultimate goal is to resell the cars for profit, he further explained that these domain discount clubs are not usually open to the public with the exception of a few that allow their members to acquire cheap and sell at very high margin.

The auctions could sell directly to regular car buyers but to allow profit and prosperity along the value chain, he confirmed that many have become millionaires just by having the privilege to join discount clubs like Softbrite.

Based on trust and conviction, I acquired my first domain on March 14th, the process was smooth as my account manager guided me through the entire process. Using my bank card, I paid for a $3500 domain name, this was based on the recommendation of my account manager.

One thing that was a bit off and confusing to me was the pricing of my domain, I listed it in the global marketplace for $100,000(don’t call me greedy). About a week later I missed a call from their US office, I could not call back due to busy work schedule, but my local rep confirmed that I needed to reduce my price as they may not find buyers quickly. Initially, she recommended I list it for $60,000 but I went with $100,000, I guess that was the reason for the call from their corporate office.

I reduced the price to $45,000 on March 22nd. Between April and June, 3 potential buyers had made offers to buy which I was advised to decline as the asking price was too low for the domain. Just so you know, as soon as you purchase a domain, it is listed at various global marketplaces, the reselling team negotiates with the end user at the marketplaces. Their goal is to ensure the domain is sold for the highest possible price.

By July 16th, an offer came for $58,000, this was way higher than what I listed it for, my account manager explained that it was a listed as “make offer” which meant any company could input what they were willing to pay for it.

The final outcome

After so much back and forth between the reselling team and the buyer, the buyer agreed, the domain was eventually sold for $61,000.  Then the reality everyone does not like came up, they charge 28%.

Since July, I have acquired 2 more domains, one of them just sold last month for $34,000. I recommend this business model any time any day.

Our resolve.

To all our highly esteemed readers, the economy is not smiling but there are many that are smiling to their banks daily. There are still legitimate businesses that Nigerians engage in and profit from. We have vetted the business model of domains flipping and can confidently affirm that it is legitimate, trustworthy and profitable.

While we are not compelling anyone to buy domains, there are many legitimate opportunities out there which turn out to be super profitable. One thing we will say is, “Take action.” Click here to start
