Ahead of the 2027 Presidential election, the Ondo State “For Tinubu 2027 Elders Movement” has pledged to mobilize not less than 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Movement’s Steering Committee, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, the group said the estimate aligns with the current number of registered voters in the state.

“The APC Elders Forum, after reviewing Ondo State’s population data, voter registration figures, and the results of the last five elections, concluded that with robust voter registration drives and sustained voter education, Ondo can deliver at least 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” the statement said.

The Elders Movement operates under the strategic plan and directive of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, titled “Ondo for Tinubu 2027.” Chief Ekungba serves as Chairman, with Pa. Senator Farunkanmi as Steering Committee Chair, and eight other members forming the functional Executive Working Committee.

The group also confirmed that it has received formal approval from Governor Aiyedatiwa, authorizing the use of the name “Ondo For Tinubu 2027 Elders Movement” and designating the Governor’s campaign office at 12 Oyemekun Road, Akure, as the State Secretariat.

Chief Ekungba called on all citizens, including youths, women, and men, to join in mobilizing support for Tinubu, emphasizing that the movement will not engage in internal competition or tolerate actions that may divide the APC in Ondo State.

He clarified that the group is the only officially recognized Elders Movement operating under the Governor’s directive, warning that any other group claiming affiliation without authorization is not endorsed by the Governor or the Steering Committee.
