Port Harcourt – The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt Area I Command, has recorded impressive revenue collections of N247.461 billion between January and October 2025, surpassing its annual target of N216 billion by over N31 billion, the Command announced over the weekend.
The Controller of the Command, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, disclosed this in a statement to media houses, noting that the Command’s cumulative collections reflect a 51 percent growth compared to the N164.080 billion collected during the same period in 2024.
“The impressive cumulative revenue for the period of January to October 2025 stands at N247.461 billion, compared to N164.080 billion in 2024,” Atuluku said. “With two powerful ember months to go, we have already surpassed the annual target of N216 billion by over N31 billion.”
She also highlighted the record-breaking October 2025 collections, which stood at N33.753 billion, up from N9.079 billion in October 2024 — an increase of approximately 272 percent, marking the highest monthly revenue in the history of the Command.
According to Atuluku, the revenue growth reflects dedication, operational reforms, and strategic collaboration. “Through teamwork and innovation, we have continued to promote legitimate trade, block revenue leakages, and contribute significantly to national development,” she said.
She credited part of the success to the Unified Customs Management System (Bodogwu), a digital platform that enhances tracking, analysis, and optimization of revenue collection. “Bodogwu has improved data accuracy, identified bottlenecks, and ensured real-time accountability, supporting our drive towards transparency and efficiency,” Atuluku added.
The Controller further noted the importance of stakeholder collaboration with sister government agencies to ensure smooth operations, voluntary compliance, and dispute reduction at the port.
Commending the officers and men of the Port Harcourt Area I Command, Atuluku said, “Despite operational challenges, they have shown exceptional commitment, embraced innovation, and delivered on our mandate.”
She concluded that the Command will continue to pursue intelligence-driven operations, enhanced automation, anti-smuggling enforcement, and trade facilitation measures to protect the economy while supporting legitimate commerce.
