Deputy Governor of Anambra, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has described the ongoing governorship election in the state as smooth, orderly and peaceful.
Ibezim stated this while casting his vote at Polling Unit 016 in Mbaukwu, Anambra South Local Government Area of the state.
He also commended what he called the ‘strong turnout of voters’, emphasising the importance of citizens fulfilling their civic responsibilities.
“It is encouraging to see a strong turnout of citizens, peacefully performing their civic duties. Let us keep it up across the state. Every vote will count,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) observed that the polling unit was peaceful, as security agents were seen ensuring a conducive and safe environment the electorate and INEC officials. (NAN)
