Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

* In Pennsylvania, Donald Trump recently announced his support for Rep. Dan Meuser’s 2026 gubernatorial campaign. Last week, however, the Republican congressman announced he isn’t running for governor.

* Also in Pennsylvania, local TV anchor Janelle Stelson nearly defeated Republican Rep. Scott Perry last fall, and now, the former Democratic candidate wants a 2026 rematch in their competitive district.

* Speaking of second efforts, Nebraska’s Dan Osborn, who ran a surprisingly effective independent U.S. Senate campaign last year, is running for the Senate again next year. He’s seeking a seat currently held by incumbent Republican Sen. Pete Ricketts.

* With 16 weeks remaining before Election Day in New Jersey, Greater Garden State, a super PAC backed by the Democratic Governors Association, is spending $20 million on an ad campaign, hoping to boost Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill.

* With the Senate gearing up to vote this week on Donald Trump’s rescissions package, the president warned last week that he’ll withhold endorsements from any GOP senators who fail to vote with their party.

* In the 48 hours after Congress passed the Republicans’ domestic party megabill, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee saw a fundraising spike.

* On a related note, House Speaker Mike Johnson told NBC News last week that he believes the far-right megabill will help House Republicans “gain seats” in next year’s midterm elections.

* And to the disappointment of Democrats who expected her to lose, conservative commentator Tudor Dixon announced last week that she won’t run for Senate or governor next year. In 2022, the Michigan Republican challenged Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, but lost badly.
