The Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing seasoned educationists as members of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
In a personally signed statement issued in Akure, Olabimtan described the governor’s action as a demonstration of his strong commitment to education.
“Posterity will forever remember you as a governor who exhibits great passion for education by appointing seasoned and experienced educationists as board members of Ondo State TESCOM,” he stated.
Olabimtan congratulated the newly appointed Chairman, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwadaisi Oke, and other members of the board, describing them as “round pegs in round holes.”
He noted that many of the appointees were retired school administrators with whom he had worked in the past to improve teaching standards and teachers’ welfare.
“It gladdens my heart to see them saddled with the responsibility of leading TESCOM. Yours is a well-deserved appointment, and I am confident in your ability to use this position for the wellbeing of our people,” he added.
Olabimtan expressed optimism that the new TESCOM board would advance the Aiyedatiwa administration’s “Our-Ease” agenda, stressing that their wealth of experience would help strengthen the education sector.
He urged the members to justify the confidence reposed in them by the governor and the people of Ondo State.
