The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has announced that 53 candidates have advanced to the next stage in the ongoing selection process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries.
According to the OHCSF, 73 candidates were accredited for the first-tier written examination, but three were absent. Out of the 70 participants, 53 successfully passed, reflecting what the office described as “the depth of talent within the Service” and the Federal Government’s commitment to merit-based appointments.
The next stage of the process is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled for Wednesday, 17th September 2025. The test is expected to assess candidates’ digital competence, which the government considers crucial for modern public service leadership.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, reaffirmed the credibility and competitiveness of the selection process, stressing that it aligns with the Federal Government’s reform agenda for a professional, accountable, and future-ready public service.
“The advancement of 53 candidates to the next stage of this rigorous process reflects our deliberate efforts to uphold excellence in public service leadership. We are committed to ensuring that only individuals of proven competence, integrity, and vision emerge to lead the Federal Civil Service at the highest levels,” she said.
The OHCSF assured Nigerians that the entire exercise is being conducted with transparency, fairness, and integrity in line with the government’s broader governance and reform goals.
