Must read

By Patrick Igwe

Redmi may be best known for budget-friendly phones, but the brand has evolved into a serious player in the premium space. Redmi’s top-tier models now offer flagship performance and luxury-grade cameras at prices well below those of major global brands.

Redmi now offers devices with high-end displays, fast processors, and advanced cameras, without the Apple or Samsung price tag. Here are the five most expensive Redmi-branded models currently in the Nigerian market:

1. Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G – Approx. N480,000 to N650,000

This model leads Redmi’s premium lineup with a vivid 6.67-inch AMOLED 120 Hz display and Dolby Vision support. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A 200MP main camera with OIS delivers top-tier photography, while 120W fast charging powers its 5,000 mAh battery in minutes, ideal for heavy users who need reliability and high performance.

2. Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G – Approx. N225,000 to N500,000

The Note 13 Pro 5G shares many of its features with the Pro Plus, including the AMOLED display and 200MP camera, but it uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. It remains a strong performer with a robust battery and solid construction. Users seeking flagship-class features at a slightly reduced price find this model especially appealing.

3. Redmi K50 Ultra – Approx. N380,000

Built for performance, the K50 Ultra comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 120 Hz AMOLED screen. With up to 12GB of RAM and high-capacity storage, it handles gaming, multitasking, and high-res content effortlessly. Solid camera quality and battery life make it a favourite among tech enthusiasts looking for power without the premium price.

4. Redmi K70 – Approx. N279,000 to N386,000

Although initially sold in China, the Redmi K70 has found its way into the Nigerian market through importers. It offers flagship-level hardware, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 6.67-inch OLED display with Dolby Vision and a 120 Hz refresh rate, plus up to 16 GB RAM and storage up to 1 TB. Its triple rear camera setup (50MP + ultrawide + macro) and 5000 mAh battery with fast charging give it broad appeal among users who prioritise performance, even if the setup requires minor tweaks for full compatibility.

5. Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G – Approx. N280,000 to N350,000

The Note 12 Pro Plus was Redmi’s previous generation flagship, featuring a large AMOLED screen, fast refresh rate, and 200MP camera. It supports 120W charging and offers smooth performance via a capable MediaTek/Density chip. Though slightly older, it remains a solid choice for those wanting high-end features at a relatively lower price.
